Neighbourhood Watch Peterborough
The Peterborough Neighbourhood Watch Association was founded in 1992. In 2018 the public name of the Association changed to Neighbourhood Watch Peterborough. It covers the area of North West Cambridgeshire, the same area covered by Peterborough City Council. Watch coordinators came together and formed an organising committee and Chief Inspector Alan Daff launched the Association commonly referred as NHW (Neighbourhood Watch Peterborough).
Its members are made up of Watch Coordinators, Area Coordinators and representatives from the Police, housing associations and other partner organisations.
The working committee have met every other month since 1992. The committee will hear reports coming in from each of the local areas, common good practice and problem solving is the order of the day.
Areas & Coordinators
Due to the size and population of the Peterborough area Neighbourhood Watch has established a number of area groups with either an Area Coordinator taking a lead or a Chair. Officially called Cluster Groups, a Watch Coordinator who links two or more Watches together becomes an Area Coordinator. Not all parts of the city and villages have yet taken this approach.
